Hello friends and family!
In order to celebrate this day with as many of you as possible we are having two ceremonies: this fall in Brooklyn, and next summer in Staufenberg in Germany.
Everyone is invited to both celebrations, but we realize that may not be possible for all of you. If you can’t join us in Brooklyn hopefully we will see you in Germany!
Here's what you need to know for the Brooklyn ceremony:
R.S.V.P.
- Please email us to let us know if you will be attending on October 11th in Brooklyn or not.
- Let us know whether you are bringing a guest. However, please understand that due to the small size of the venue and our wish to have an intimate wedding we ask you not to bring a guest unless we know him/her well.
- Also let us know if you are bringing your kids (and their ages).
Where and when?
- We will be celebrating in our Brooklyn neighborhood Greenpoint at Milk & Roses starting at 1pm. Please let us know if you expect to be more than a little late.
- The entire venue is exclusively ours until 7pm. You're welcome to stay longer and/or join us if the party moves somewhere else nearby.
- Google Maps or any GPS system should get you to the venue, so we'll skip that. If you have specific questions ask us.
- Parking is available on the street. The nearest subway stop is Greenpoint Avenue (G train).
- If you need a place to stay please let us know: we can ask around and/or give advice.
What to expect?
- Upon arrival of all guests there will be drinks and hors d'oeuvres after which our friend Steve – a licensed marriage officiant – will marry us in the garden, followed by more drinks and food.
- Weather-permitting we will be mostly in the garden and the partially enclosed greenhouse. If it rains, we will move inside (and close the greenhouse windows).
- There is no dress code. Come dressed as you wish, we will too.
- The food will be buffet-style, so there will be no seating plan. We prefer you to mingle.
- Please no funny "wedding" games or performances. However, if you feel you have a great idea – something we will definitely enjoy – kindly seek "approval" by our maid of honor Ina.
What to bring?
- Please no gifts! Not only do we already have everything we need, but it took us a lot of effort to store everything we already have in our tiny New York apartment. Now, if you want to contribute in monetary form to help cover the costs of our two wedding parties, we won't say no. But the main thing we want is for all of you to join us and have a good time.
- The venue does not allow confetti, rice or that "silly string" spray stuff. Or glitter. Please don’t get us in trouble!
Was mitbringen?
- Keine Geschenke bitte!
